Missionary Man:

Dear Awesome Family that i have!

So this week, i must admit was probably the most challenging week that i have had so far! it seemed that everything was falling through and i could figure out why.... i knew the simple answers. either 1 sometimes we need to be humbled so that we can get to a level of love for the savior that we just rely 100% on him. or 2 something is going wrong which needs to be fixed, and my companion was feeling it to, (i feel so blessed to been able to be a district leaders companion as my trainer!) so we sat down one night and started talking, about what we (as a companionship) needed to work on, it wasn't until we decided to change and had the attitude to find, teach and baptize is when we started seeing success, there are a lot of things that need to be worked on, but until you make the decision to start, nothing will get done!

I'm sending a few pictures in this of elders in my district! just so you get a face to the people I'm with its so awesome cause one of my zone leaders ( elder Frehner) is one of my way good friends from high school!!! we got to go on exchanges the other day, its so cool to see how much people change there focus's, he is still the same person but not at the same time! as i am serving out here in the field i have been so happy, not just enjoying myself but happy, ( big difference)

i know this letter wont be long but I'm so glad to hear that everything is going well at home! congratz jason and marci! for closing on your house! i bet it was a big relief when you started getting everything into the house and knowing that it is your home where you get the chance to raise elin! it seems like everything is going great back at home! Brians new job, mikes house! it really helps me to know that you guys are being taken care of! please keep on sending letters! i know i am failing at the whole writing letters home part but i will work on it, and expect a letter home this week! if i say it i will have to follow up! ha ha if possible, it would be so awesome to get a few pictures from you, when i left home i totally forgot to bring a picture album! so i have no pictures of our family or anything, i know it will uplift not only myself but elder Mcmillan also! he has asked quite a few questions about you guys!

just a quick story - the other day i was talking with one of our investigators ( Debra ) she has been taught for a long time from other missionaries before me, and it seems when ever we start making progress, she steps back into her old habits! and iv been trying to figure out what we needed to do, she lives with her mom ( joyce) and she is like super anti Mormon, if we ever mention the book of mormon she goes off and walks out of the lesson, but this last lesson that we were in, (while i was on exchanges with elder Frehner) we started having somewhat of a bible study mixed in with our beliefs so we can teach both of them, and elder Frehner not realizing that joyce was pretty anti, ( i forgot to mention it... ) started talking about the BoM and Joyce started to stand up and i said hey joyce, have you ever heard what the book of mormon is? she said yes, that joseph smith wrote it, and we thought of joseph smith as a god, we told her that it was nothing like that, i asked her if we could read just a little portion from the introduction of the book of mormon, we established what the book was, and why it was here, she being stuck in her ways decided to brush it off, but i know that it made an impact on her, when we were leaving, i asked elder Frehner to give the closing prayer, while we were praying i heard joyce come out from the other room trying to be all sly like, and i glanced over to see her hiding behind the wall, elder Frehner prayed that Debra and Joyce would be able to know that the things that we taught are actually true and that they would be able to realize that, at the end of the prayer we said amen, and i saw Joyce back away! just a mini miracle! but i feel that we were able to follow the spirit and to plant that seed, its so great to see the change in peoples life when they actually see how much our church brings happiness into there lives and how much direction and the blessings that come from doing what is asked of them!

I know that being on a mission is the best choice i have ever made! the blessings that i see and experience everyday over come any trial that could ever be thrown at me! if there is anything that i could say today to you guys is that build your relationship with God and Jesus, and i promise you that if you take the time, to make your relationship just a little bit better that you will see changes! i could possibly be transferred this Thursday, i don't find out till tomorrow night so if you send any letters be sure to send them to the mission home! i love you all and look forward to your letters and emails!
love from your Brother/ Son
Elder dahl!

p.s-i dont know if i told you! there was a crazy tornado warning! i was always excited to see what it would be like until i actually felt a tiny bit of it.. there was a funnel cloud right above the area i serve in! but nothing bad happened, in a few of the surrounding towns there was softball size hail!!!! softball! yea crazy! but i love ya!
